How to Use AI for Writing—and Still Sound Like a Real Person

Hey! It’s Arvin here.

Yesterday, I was scrolling on my phone while sipping coffee, and I saw this post.

At first glance, it looked fine.

Nice content. Catchy title.

But then I thought… wait, haven’t I seen this before?

Not the exact post, but pretty much the same idea.

Same tips. Same tone. Kinda boring.

“5 ways to grow your brand.”

“How to be more productive.”

“In today’s world…”

You get the idea.

That’s when it hit me: this was probably made by AI. Or at least, AI helped.

And it wasn’t bad.

But it wasn’t interesting either.

I scrolled right past it.

The AI Content Trap

AI makes writing super easy. Too easy.

At first, it felt like a win.

Type in a question, press a button, and BOOM — you’ve got something to post.

But now?

Everyone’s doing it. And most people aren’t adding anything personal.

The posts are flat. No feeling. No personality.

Just more stuff AI threw together.

And that worked for a while. AI was new. People were curious.

Not anymore.

People are bored.

They scroll right past the safe, generic stuff.

AI Isn’t the Problem (But How You Use It Might Be)

Here’s the truth:

AI isn’t bad. It’s just a tool.

But it needs you to make something that stands out.

If you’re wondering how to use AI for writing that actually connects, here’s the secret:

Don’t let it do everything for you.

Think of AI like gym equipment.

It can help you get stronger — but you still have to do the work!

The weights aren’t going to lift themselves.

The best creators figure out how to use AI for writing that sounds human.

They use it to help, not to replace their voice.

They share their stories. Their ideas. Their quirks. The messy, fun, real stuff that makes people stop and think:

“Wait, I like this person.”

Because AI can’t be you. It can’t tell your story the way you can.

And that’s what makes people care.

How to Stay Human in a World of AI Content

If you’re figuring out how to use AI for writing that stands out, remember this:

AI should help you be more you — not less.

Lose your voice, and you blend in.

Blend in, and you disappear.

But when you bring your stories, your jokes, your “this isn’t perfect but it’s real” energy?

That’s when people care.

So yeah, use AI. I do.

But it’s your helper. Not your copy machine.

Quick Guide: How I Use AI for Writing (And You Can Too!)

1. Start with your own ideas.

Before you use AI, think about what you want to say.

Write down your thoughts, even if they’re messy or not perfect.

This is where the best ideas come from!

2. Use AI as your helper, not your boss.

Once you have your ideas, let AI help you fix them up.

It can make things clearer and easier to understand.

But remember — you are the one in charge!

3. Make it sound like you.

After AI gives you something, read it out loud.

Does it sound like how you talk to your friends?

If not, change it!

Make sure it feels like you.

4. Add your flavor.

Now it’s time to make it fun!

Add your stories, jokes, and anything that makes your writing different from everyone else’s.

This is what makes people want to keep reading.

5. Don’t over-polish.

It’s okay if it’s not super fancy.

Use short sentences.

Add fun words or silly phrases if you like them.

Writing that feels real is way better than something that’s too polished.

6. Use AI for ideas. Make them yours.

AI can give you a good starting point, like topic ideas or titles.

But you should finish the job.

Your voice and your ideas are what make your writing special!

Bottom line: AI can help. But you are the magic.

Let it make you faster.

Don’t let it make you boring.

The best thing you can be? YOU. (With a little help from AI!)

Talk soon, and hope you’re having an awesome day!

P.S. Right now, I’m building a course to help brands finally get digital marketing right.

After working with 30+ brands (and giving talks to thousands of students), I keep seeing the same mistakes — even from the big guys.

So I’m creating a no-fluff course that fixes that.

But here’s the thing…

I can’t do it without you.

I want this course to be insanely useful — and that starts with you.
